Recite the Quran, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for its reciters. Muslim


The Quran and its people who acted upon it will be brought forth on the Day of Resurrection, preceded by Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Ali Imran. Muslim


The example of those who recite the Quran and memorize it is that of one who is with the ‘righteous and noble scribes’ [80:15]. The example of one who recites the Quran with great difficulty is that of one who receives a double reward. Bukhari


Do not turn your houses into graves. Verily, Shaytan does not enter the house where Surah Al-Baqarah is recited. Tirmidhi


Whoever recites the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah by night, that will suffice him. Bukhari


Recite the Quran, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite It. Recite the two bright ones, Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Ali Imran, for on the Day of Resurrection they will come as two clouds or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recite them. Recite Surah al-Baqarah: to take recourse to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of grief, and the magicians cannot confront it. Muslim


Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will receive one good deed as ten good deeds like it. I do not say that alif-lam-meem is one letter, but rather alif is a letter, lam is a letter, and meem is a letter. Tirmidhi


Verily, one who does not memorize anything from the Quran is like a ruined house. Tirmidhi


It will be said to the companion of the Quran: “Recite and ascend as you recited in the world, for your rank (in Jannah) is determined by the last verse you recite.” Tirmidhi


Verily, Allah raises the status of people with this Book and he humiliates others. Muslim


There is no envy except in two cases: a man whom Allah has given this Book so he stands to recite it during the day and night, and a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it during the day and night. Bukhari


Whoever says three times when he gets up in the morning: “A’udhu billahis Samee’il ‘Aleemi minash shaytanir rajeem” and then recites the last three verses of Surah al-Hashr [59:22-24], Allah SWT appoints 70, 000 angels to pray for him till the evening. If he dies during that day, he dies a martyr. The same applies if one recites it in the evening. Tirmidhi


The Prophet ﷺ recited the book before Gabriel every year in the month of Ramadan, and in the month in which he died he recited it before him twice. Bukhari


Once, a person prostrates himself after reading a verse requiring the performance of Sajdah, the shaitan starts crying and wailing in a corner, saying: “Alas! The children of Adam were enjoined to perform Sajdah, and they carried it out and became entitled to enter Paradise, but I refused to do so and was condemned to Hell.” Muslim


The believer who recites the Quran is like a citrus fruit – its fragrance is pleasing and its taste is sweet. The believer who does not recite the Quran is like a dry date – it has no fragrance but its taste is sweet.

The hypocrite who recites the Quran is like a basil – its fragrance is sweet, but its taste is bitter. The hypocrite who does not recite the Quran is like a colocynth – it has no smell, and its taste is bitter. Muslim


Anas reported: The Prophet ﷺ as well as Abu Bakr RA and Umar RA, would open the prayer by reciting, “All praise is due to Allah.” I did not hear any of them recite aloud, “In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.Muslim


Whoever reads the Quran, learns it and acts in accordance with it, on the Day of Resurrection his parents will be given a crown to wear whose light will be like the light of the sun. And his parents will be given garments which far surpass everything to be found in this world. They will say, “Why have we been given this to wear?” It will be said, “Because your child learned the Quran.” Al Haakim
