The Hour will not begin until ten signs appear: The rising of the sun from the west (place of its setting); Dajjal; the smoke; the beast; Gog and Magog people; the appearance of Isa bin Maryam (AS), the earth collapsing three times – once in the east, one in the west and one in the Arabian Peninsula; and fire that will emerge from the plain of Aden Abyan and will drive the people to the place of Gathering, stopping with them when they stop at night and when they stop to rest at midday. Ibn Majah

The Hour (Last Day) will not be established until (religious) knowledge will be taken away (by the death of religious learned men), earthquakes will be very frequent, time will pass quickly, afflictions will appear, murders will increase and money will overflow amongst you. Bukhari

From among the portents of the Hour are: 1. Religious knowledge will be taken away (by the death of Religious learned men). 2. (Religious) ignorance will prevail. 3. Drinking of Alcoholic drinks (will be very common). 4. There will be prevalence of open illegal sexual intercourse. Bukhari

Count six signs that indicate the approach of the Hour: my death; the conquest of Jerusalem; a plague that will afflict you (and kill you in great numbers) as the plague that afflicts sheep; the increase of wealth to such an extent that even if one is given one hundred Dinars, he will not be satisfied; then an affliction which no Arab house will escape; and then a truce between you and Bani Al-Asfar (Offspring of yellow i.e. the Romans/Byzantines) who will betray you and attack you under eighty flags. Under each flag will be twelve thousand soldiers. Bukhari

Allah SWT will say, “O Adam!” and he will say, ‘”Here I am at Your service, and all goodness is in Your hand.” Allah SWT will say, “Bring forth those who are to be sent to Hell.” Adam will say, “Who are those who are to be sent to Hell?” Allah SWT will say, “From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety nine.”

At that point the young will turn grey, every pregnant female will abort, and the people will appear intoxicated although they are not. But the punishment of Allah is severe.

They said, “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, which of us will be that one?” He ﷺ said, “Be of good cheer, for there will be one man from among you and one thousand from among Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj.”

Then he ﷺ said, “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, I hope that you will be one quarter of the people of Paradise,” and they said, “Allaahu Akbar!” Then he ﷺ said, “I hope that you will be one third of the people of Paradise,” and they said, “Allaahu Akbar!” Then he ﷺ said, “I hope that you will be half of the people of Paradise,” and they said, “Allaahu Akbar!”

Then he ﷺ said, “Among the people you are like a black hair on the hide of a white bull, or like a white hair on the hide of a black bull.” Bukhari

Give glad tidings to those who walk to the mosque in darkness, for it will become fully light on the Day of Resurrection. Tirmidhi

The believers will gather together on the Day of Resurrection and will say: “Should we not ask [someone] to intercede for us with our Lord?” So they will come to Adam and will say: “You are the Father of mankind; Allah created you with His hand, He made His angels bow down to you and He taught you the names of everything. So intercede for us with your Lord so that He may give us relief form this place where we are.” And he will say: “I am not in a position [to do that]” – and he will mention his wrongdoing and will feel ashamed and will say: “Go to Noah, for he is the first messenger that Allah sent to the inhabitants of the earth.”

So they will come to him and he will say: “I am not in a position [to do that]” – and he will mention his having requested something of his Lord about which he had no [proper] knowledge [11:45-46], and he will feel ashamed and will say: “Go to the Friend of the Merciful (Abraham).”

So they will come to him and he will say: “I am not in a position [to do that]. Go to Moses, a servant to whom Allah talked and to whom He gave the Torah.”

So they will come to him and he will say: “I am not in a position [to do that]” – and he will mention the taking of a life other that for a life [28:15-16], and he will feel ashamed in the sight of his Lord and will say: “Go to Jesus, Allah’s servant and messenger, Allah’s word and spirit.”

So they will come to him and he will say: “I am not in a position [to do that]. Go to Muhammad ﷺ, a servant to whom Allah has forgiven all his wrongdoing, past and future.”

So they will come to me and I shall set forth to ask permission to come to my Lord, and permission will be given, and when I shall see my Lord I shall prostrate myself. He will leave me thus for such time as it pleases Him, and then it will be said [to me]: “Raise your head. Ask and it will be granted. Speak and it will be heard. Intercede and your intercession will be accepted.”

So I shall raise my head and praise Him with a form of praise that He will teach me. Then I shall intercede and He will set me a limit [as to the number of people], so I shall admit them into Paradise.

Then I shall return to Him, and when I shall see my Lord I shall bow down as before. Then I shall intercede and He will set me a limit. So I shall admit them into Paradise. Then I shall return for a third time, then a fourth, and I shall say: “There remains in Hell-fire only those whom the Qur’an has confined and who must be there for eternity.”

There shall come out of Hell-fire he who has said: “There is no god but Allah” and who has in his heart goodness weighing a barley-corn. Then there shall come out of Hell-fire he who has said: “There is no god but Allah” and who has in his heart goodness weighing a grain of wheat. Then there shall come out of Hell-fire he who has said: “There is no god but Allah” and who has in his heart goodness weighing an atom. Bukhari HADITH QUDSI

There are three whose adversary I shall be on the Day of Resurrection: a man who has given his word by Me and has broken it; a man who has sold a free man and has consumed the price; and a man who has hired a workman, has exacted his due in full from him and has not given him his wage. Bukhari HADITH QUDSI

There are seven whom Allah will shade in His Shade on the Day when there is no shade except His Shade: a just ruler; a youth who grew up in the worship of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic; a man whose heart is attached to the mosques; two men who love each other for Allah’s sake, meeting for that and parting upon that; a man who is called by a woman of beauty and position (for illegal intercourse), but he says: “I fear Allah;” a man who gives in charity and hides it, such that his left hand does not know that his right hand gives charity; and a man who remembered Allah in private and so his eyes shed tears. Bukhari

I certainly know people of my ummah who will come on the Day of Resurrection with good deeds like the mountains of Tihaamah, but Allah will make them like scattered dust. Thawbaan said: “O Messenger of Allah, describe them to us and tell us more, so that we will not become of them unknowingly”.

He ﷺ said: “They are your brothers and from your race, worshipping at night as you do, but they will be people who, when they are alone, transgress the sacred limits of Allah”. Ibn Majah

Three persons will not be looked upon by Allah Almighty on the Day of Resurrection: one who disobeys his parents, a woman who imitates men, and a man who allows his women to fornicate.

Three persons will not enter Paradise: one who disobeys his parents, a drunkard, and one who reminds others of his charity. Nasa’i

Allah will select a man from my ummah before all the creatures on the day of resurrection. He will select one of the ummah and he will display to him 99 records of deeds and these records will be long as the sight can reach.

Then Allah will say, “Do you deny anything from this? Were my guardian scribes unjust to you?” He will say, “No! Oh, My Lord’” Allah will say, “Do you have any excuse?” He will say, “No, My Lord!”

Allah will say, “Yes, you have! For there is a good deed and on this day you will not suffer any injustice from us.” Then a card containing Lailaha illallah will appear. Allah with say, “Come and witness the scale!” He will say, “My Lord! what is this card supposed to do with all these records!”

Then the records will be put on one side of the scale and the card on the other and the records will weigh lighter and the card will be heavier. Nothing is heavier than the name of Allah. Tirmidhi

Verily, the first thing a servant will be asked about on the Day of Resurrection will be his blessings. It will be said to him: “Have We not given you health in your body and nourished you with cool water to drink?” Tirmidhi HADITH QUDSI

A believer will be brought to his Almighty Lord on the Day of Resurrection until He places His veil over him and makes him confess to his sins, saying: “Do you acknowledge your sins?” The believer will say: “My Lord, I do acknowledge them.”

Allah will say: “I concealed them for you in the world and today I forgive you for them.” Then he will be given the record of his good deeds.

As for the unbelievers and hypocrites, there will be an announcement before all creation saying that these people had lied about Allah. Muslim HADITH QUDSI

Verily, the first people to be judged on the Day of Resurrection will be a man who was martyred. He will be brought, the blessings of Allah will be made known, and he will acknowledge them. Allah will say: “What did you do with them?” The man will say: “I fought in Your cause until I was martyred.”

Allah will say: “You have lied, for you fought only that it would be said you were brave, thus it was said.” Then, Allah will order him to be dragged upon his face until he is cast into Hellfire.

Another man studied religious knowledge, taught others, and recited the Quran. He will be brought, the blessings of Allah will be made known, and he will acknowledge them. Allah will say: “What did you do with them? The man will say: I learned religious knowledge, taught others, and I recited the Quran for Your sake.”

Allah will say: “You have lied, for you studied only that it would be said you are a scholar and you recited the Quran only that it would be said you are a reciter, thus it was said.” Then, Allah will order him to be dragged upon his face until he is cast into Hellfire.

Another man was given an abundance of blessings from Allah and every kind of wealth. He will be brought, the blessings of Allah will be made known, and he will acknowledge them. Allah will say: “What did you do about them?” The man will say: “I did not leave any good cause beloved to You but that I spent on it for Your sake.”

Allah will say: “You have lied, for you spent only that it would be said you are generous, thus it was said.” Then, Allah will order him to be dragged upon his face until he is cast into Hellfire. Muslim HADITH QUDSI

The first action for which a servant of Allah will be held accountable on the Day of Resurrection will be his prayers. If they are in order, he will have prospered and succeeded. If they are lacking, he will have failed and lost.

If there is something defective in his obligatory prayers, then the Almighty Lord will say: “See if My servant has any voluntary prayers that can complete what is insufficient in his obligatory prayers.” The rest of his deeds will be judged the same way. Tirmidhi HADITH QUDSI

Nothing will be heavier on the Day of Resurrection in the Scale of the believer than good manners. Allah hates one who utters foul or coarse language. Tirmidhi

A surah of the Quran containing thirty verses will intercede its reader till he will be forgiven. That is: “Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the sovereignty.” (Surah Al Mulk). Abu Dawud

The proud will be gathered on the Day of Judgement resembling tiny particles in the image of men. They will be covered with humiliation everywhere. They will be dragged into a prison in Hell called Bulas, submerged in the Fire of Fires, drinking the drippings of the people of the Fire, filled with derangement. Tirmidhi

I asked the Prophet ﷺ to intercede for me on the Day of Judgement. He ﷺ said: “I am the one to do so.” I said: “O Messenger of Allah! Then where shall I seek you?”

He ﷺ said: “Seek me, the first time you should seek me is on the Sirat.” I said: “If I do not meet you upon the Sirat?” He ﷺ said: “Then seek me at the Mizan.” I said: “And if I do not meet you at the Mizan?” He ﷺ said: “Then seek me at the Howd, for indeed I will not me missed at these three locations.” Tirmidhi

When Allah created Paradise and Hellfire, He sent Gabriel to Paradise saying: “Behold it and what I have prepared therein for its people.” Gabriel came and looked at it and what Allah had prepared therein for its people. He returned to Allah and he said: “By Your might, no one will hear of it but that he will enter it.”

Allah ordered that it be surrounded by adversity and He said: “Return to it and behold what I have prepared therein for its people.” Gabriel returned and found that it was surrounded by hardship. He returned to Allah and he said: “By Your might, I fear that no one will enter it.”

Allah said: “Go to the Hellfire and behold it and what I have prepared therein for its people.” Gabriel found that it was in layers, one above another. He returned to Allah and he said: “By Your might, no one who hears of it will enter it.”

Allah ordered that it be surrounded by desires and He said: “Return to it.” Gabriel returned and he said: “By Your might, I fear that no one will escape it.” Tirmidhi HADITH QUDSI

The Hellfire and Paradise disputed each other. Hellfire said: “The arrogant and the tyrants will dwell in me.” Paradise said: “What is the matter with me that only the meek and humble of the people will enter me?”

Allah said to Paradise: “You are My mercy with which I show mercy to those of My servants whom I will.” Allah said to Hellfire: “You are My punishment with which I punish those of My servants whom I will, and both of you will be full.”

As for Hellfire, it will not be filled until Allah puts His foot over it and Hellfire will say: “Enough! Enough!” All of its parts will be filled together and Allah will not wrong any of His creatures. As for Paradise, Allah will create a new creation with which to fill it. Bukhari HADITH QUDSI

Death will be brought in the form of a black and white ram, and a caller will call out: “O people of Paradise!” They will crane their necks and look, and [the caller] will say: “Do you recognize this?” They will say: “Yes, this is death.” And all of them will have seen it.

Then [the caller] will call out: “O people of Hell!”  They will crane their necks and look, and [the caller] will say: “Do you recognize this?” They will say: “Yes, this is death.” And all of them will have seen it.

Then it will be slaughtered, then it will be said: “O people of Paradise, it is eternal and there will be no death. O people of Hell, it is eternal and there will be no death.” Bukhari
